Ok, this time I mean it...Bring in your completed rough draft tomorrow.
(I am going to collect them Wednesday and make some comments. Then hopefully I'll bne ready to give them back to you Friday so you can turn them into final drafts.)

Bring in a completed rough draft of your Fat Tax essay tomorrow.
Read the articles on Denmark's fat tax. Then, jot down a note about a) whether the US should or should not adopt a fat tax and b) three reasons why. You can either do this at the bottom of the article or on a separate sheet of paper.
Bring in a list of 5 reasons that your "persona" should survive the Great Balloon Debate! Your list will be collected for HW credit after you have presented your argument to the class.
Add 3 new reasons that you think X-Men action figures should be either toys or dolls (give reasons for whichever side your group did NOT take during class today).
Bring in lyrics from a song that you think are "poetic."
PLEASE do not bring in lyrics that includes: - Curse words/swears - References to drugs or alcohol - Sexually explicit language (And no, you cannot bring in lyrics with the swears crossed out. Find a song without swears in it. They're out there)

Read 15-20 minutes in your independent reading book. Write 5 sentences about the portion of your book that you read today so that each sentence uses one of you vocabulary words.
Examples based on the book I'm reading:
Sirine is legitimately American despite that fact that she was born in Iraq.
Her parents obtained American citizenship when Sirine was very young.
The students who eat at Um-Nadia's diner
have profound discussions over their coffee.
The final draft of your "Use of Force" essay is due on Wednesday day

Read 20 more minutes of your independent reading book. Write a 5 question quiz about what you read during those 20 minutes. You can write multiple choice, true or false, fill in the blank, or matching questions.
Make sure you include 1. Your name 2. The book title and author's name 3. The page range that your quiz covers. 4. Your quiz questions (no answer key necessary)

Read for 20 minutes in your independent reading book. Post a book update in the discussion section of your class page. POST YOUR UPDATE AS A REPLY TO THE MESSAGE ENTITLED "INDEPENDENT READING UPDATE #6".

Copy down three sentences from your independent reading book that DO NOT start with adjectives. Re-write all three sentences so that they DO start with opening adjectives/adjective phrases.
Complete the word splash handed out in class today. We are doing vocab skits Tuesday. We will have a super short vocab quiz on Wednesday.

If you couldn't save it to the wiki, it is on your U:Drive at school, so you should be able to get it from any computer at Beebe and either upload it again or e-mailing it to yourself.
